| Centauri Summer Arts Camp - February 2009 | |
|
Okay, we'll admit it: as (ex)
British people, we get halfway through Winter and LONG for the
summer months! We're trying to make the most of it - as you see
here - but what are we thinking behind the smiles?
WE CAN'T WAIT FOR JULY!!! Quick Link Booking Service! From now on, we will be offering a 'quick link booking service' in every newsletter. This is a service that will allow camp families wishing to book, a chance to do so without contacting us to enquire about availability. If you click on this button, it will take you to a current list of all programs, showing availability, and to a reservation form. You can only use this button for only 48 hours after you receive this email, since availability is always changing! Check if the program you want is still available, then send your reservation off to us. As always, we can hold space for only 7 days, and must receive the deposit and application form within this time. Click here to view the Quick Link Availability & Reservation Form

Stuff on our Website
We're in the process of adding new bios for all counsellors and program directors. Check out these pages to see photos and up-to-date information on all your favourite staff! Program Director Bios Counsellor Bios Click here to see photos of the first 10 years of camp (1995-2003) Photos Finally, we're working on a 'Parent Resource Section' which includes articles for parents about preparing a child for camp, the value of the summer camp experience, why the arts matter, and so on. Our 15th Anniversary Performance
Marathon
.. This will be the biggest event in the Centauri calendar this year... with the exception of camp itself! To celebrate our fifteenth year, Centauri will attempt to build a school in an impoverished
community on the Indian/Nepalese border. To do this, we
first have to raise money! All staff, past and present, will
be invited to join a performance team - and we will
attempt to keep a performance continually going on stage for
a total of FIFTEEN HOURS! Each participant will ask for
sponsorship, and all campers and their families will be
invited either to support a staff member, or to come along
and be our audience! The all-important date for your diary
is SUNDAY 24TH MAY and the location is Lower Ossington
Theatre, Toronto (more details to follow). 'Community' has
always been essential to Centauri, and now that our
community is to well established we want to reach out and
help another community - one where children currently do not
have the chance to go to school. Watch this space!!!!!! |
Bring a Friend to Centauri!
Have you considered referring a friend to Centauri? If you have friends who may be interested in attending camp with you, we would be happy to come along and meet with them! We regularly visit with new families in the Toronto region - and if you have 3 or more friends interested in coming to camp, we can arrange family visits further afield. We bring slides, videos, photos, reference letters and even cream cakes! Some families may not fully understand the value of overnight camp - and a visit from us can help reassure parents that Centauri can offer a valuable experience to their child - as well as a fantastic summer adventure! |

Christopher Fowler has now
confirmed he will be returning for summer 2009! Those of you

workshop announcements (Dear Diary...) and his crazy
skipping ropes! Chris will be teaching "Theatre is Dead
(Long Live Theatre)" for omegas in session 2, and "Going
Solo" for ages 11-15 in session 3. You can read his program
