Our music camps offer campers a choice of vocal and singing camps, or instrumental music (rock, jazz and blues). Campers work alongside professionals who can teach, encourage and inspire them to become better musicians! We're offering some exciting and varied choices in our Music Department this summer! All music programs end in final performances where campers have the opportunity to showcase their skills.
At Centauri, campers choose one specialty arts program per session.

Get ready to perform show-stopping numbers as we discover what it takes to put together the type of performances you see on Glee. Develop your singing technique and find out how to blend your voice with an ensemble to create incredible harmonies. We'll rehearse our own unique interpretations of contemporary songs and along the way discover classic popular music, too. We’ll learn how to command the stage by drawing on theatre skills and participate in dance workshops so we can move with ease. When we put it all together, our energetic vocal performance will have the audience ready to sing along with us! Join us for a theatrical singing program that will, literally, be full of GLEE!
Bring along your instrument (or your voice!) and we will inspire you to try new styles as we spend the session creating bands, coming up with original music and lyrics, creating cover versions and having a blast! We’ll explore why artists write the songs they do, and where they find their inspiration, then we’ll look for interesting ‘hooks’ that will make our original music memorable and catchy. Musicians and vocalists will work on collaborative creation techniques as they go from jamming in the music room to preparing a concert for the big stage. Bring your creativity and your passion for music, and let's create some large-scale MAYHEM!Campers must play an instrument (such as drums, guitar, bass, piano or sax) at least at a basic level, and bring the instrument with them to camp. Vocalists with a good music knowledge are also welcome.
Do you think you have what it takes to be the next big pop star? Find out, as we explore the world of pop music! We will take a look at how to sing pop music and how to do pop 'ornaments' (all the fancy Christina/Mariah stuff!). Discover how to develop the great singing technique needed to maintain a healthy voice that will carry you through days of singing and dancing. To give our voices a break, we will also work on stage presence and dance moves, essential skills for all pop artists. We’ll put together a repertoire of songs, then add choreography as we prepare to showcase several performance-ready pop songs that will wow our audience! Basic singing experience is necessary for this session. Basic singing experience is necessary for this session.
