Each of our Musical Theatre Camps has a specific focus, such as vocal training, "triple threat" (acting, singing and dancing) or choreography and dance. The programs may also focus on a specific musical theatre style, period or composer.
At Centauri, campers choose one specialty arts program per session.

Musical
Theatre: Characters of Broadway Calling all triple threats! Use your acting, singing and dancing skills to bring to life the characters of Broadway. This session, omega campers will discover what it takes to bring musical theatre’s larger-than-life roles to the stage. We will go through an in-depth character study process, including everything from looking at the original production and the character’s background, to exploring their voice and physicality. In addition to tackling our work from an actor’s perspective, campers will also take workshops on dance and vocal technique. Our final production will showcase campers in solo or duet scenes as well as an ensemble piece that will integrate all of your triple threat skills. Be prepared to take risks and work hard - but also to have a whole lot of fun as we transform ourselves into characters that will amaze and enthrall our audience on the final day.
It's time to put away your instruments and bust out your killer voice! This is Centauri's first entirely acapella program. Using nothing but our voices, we will become an entire band as we recreate our favourite songs. If you liked your school choir or glee club, you'll have a ton of fun making great harmonies together. Discover - or refresh your knowledge of - part singing, blending, group sound-shaping, solo singing, tight harmonies and even vocal percussion (beatboxing). Get ready to learn some intense and awesome music from jazz to collegiate acapella style. Acapella is the genre you can sing anywhere, so stop carrying around those heavy instruments and start making sweet tunes with ‘Voices Only’! Campers must have a background in solo or choral singing and preferably be able to read music at a basic level.
