Photography CampIn Your Dreams: A Photography Challenge!

Session 2 - A/O (ages 9-18)  Instructor: Aaron Alviano

Campers in this exciting new Digital Photo program will be faced with a new theme or style every single day! We’ll view photographs, discuss ideas, then head out to shoot solo or in groups. Back in the lab, campers will be taught the digital tools required to bring their own vision - and the visions of others - to life. From Ansel Adams to Annie Leibovitz, from capturing dreams to documenting events and from self-discovery to telling stories through photos, you’ll tackle a different artistic challenge every day - some designed by us, and others by you - growing as a photographer as you develop a style of your own. Photographers will learn by doing in this fabulous frenzy of photos! No previous photography experience is necessary, though experienced photographers are equally welcome! Please bring along your own digital camera.

Traditional PhotographyBringing Back the MAGIC: The FUNdamentals of Photo!

Session 4 (ages 11-18)   Instructor: D’Arcy White

Discover why the Darkroom has intrigued people for generations, as you explore traditional film photography! Mix your own chemicals... develop your film... work like an alchemist in the hushed environment of the camp darkroom... and finally, watch your very own photographs appear like magic before your eyes! How can this happen without the help of a computer? We'll teach you the secrets fewer and fewer people share! Campers participate in photographic projects and field trips around camp, as well as exploring techniques like pinhole photography, paper negatives, painting with light, photograms, cyanotypes and more. New projects will be explored, making this program suitable for campers who have taken it before, as well as brand new participants! Join the exclusive club of the YoPhos (Young Photographers) and unlock the secrets of traditional film photography with us this summer! The camp has a limited supply of traditional film cameras if you do not have one, but campers need to bring along their own supply of black and white film.
