Inspiration Through the Arts!

In our first summer, we ran just 4 specialist programs: ArtsQuest, Theatre, Dance and Fine Art. Since then, we’ve run more than 900 specialty arts programs, including international tour programs and kinderarts camps.

Great Camp Activities!

In our first year, Julie planned every evening program and spirit supper. Year 2 we ran our first ever banquet. Festivals became a huge highlight of the camp experience by year 3, and favourites have included our Harry Potter festivals, Lord of the Rings, Super Mario , an Arthurian festival, Pokemon and annual traditions like Play-in-a-Day.

Awesome Staff!

Campers from our first few years joined our counsellor team, ran tours with us, took office positions, became program directors, taught our leadership program and worked with us on senior staff. Many now have their 20th and 25th year awards. Several met their life partners at Centauri, and we now have second generation campers with us.

Nurturing Camp Communities

Some things never change, and the ‘feel’ of our community is one of them. When a staff member from years ago visited camp last summer, the first thing they noticed was the changes: new buildings, more campers, better facilities. But then the music went on in the dining hall, the campers started singing and laughing, friends threw their arms around each other’s shoulder sand with a smile of relief, they said: “nothing has changed. Centauri is the same community it’s always been”.
