Every once in a while, something happens at camp that, quite literally, makes dreams come true. Several campers told us their dreams came true two nights ago when we transformed Centauri to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The night began as each dorm was ‘sorted’ into a Hogwarts House. Then, it was into the dining hall! Luckily, the interior of our dining hall looks a lot like Hogwarts to start with… especially with the tables realigned in rows. Ghosts wandered the Hall during dinner, and Dumbledore (Craig!) gave a speech welcoming the students to the start of the school year.

After dinner, each dorm had a school timetable, and – headed by Prefects – attended several short classes. These included Potions, Herbology, reading tea leaves, Quidditch practice, transformation and much more. The evening ended down at the campfire pit, as the sun set… with a retelling of Tales of Beedle the Bard. We all went back to the dorms with icecream and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans!
