A Sneak Peek at a Few of our 2015 Arts Programs!

We are now putting the finishing touches to our 2015 website and brochure, ready to launch on 6th November. Registration Day follows soon after, on SUNDAY 16TH NOVEMBER (returning campers) and WEDNESDAY 19TH NOVEMBER (new families)! In the meantime, here is a sample of some of the terrific programs we are running next year…

Experienced Dancers can join Veronica in Session 1 to mount a story-dance piece entitled The Bride of Frankenstein! Other sessions include all dance forms and programs for dancers of all levels. In Session Two, Dancers, Actors and Writers will be working together on a collaborative arts program entitled The People Project, which will result in a full length performance piece sure to intrigue an audience.

Do you like to write Fantasy? Then join us for ‘The Art of Fantasy’ in Session Three, with the talented Helen Tran. If fantasy isn’t your thing, we have terrific new writing programs in all sessions for aged 12+, and also ‘A Celebration of Story’ in session one for ages 9-14.

Filmmakers have new options next year, as well as a return of old favourites! Film Styles and Music Video Production will be running again. Campers aged 9-14 can choose an Adventure Movie program entitled The Secret Tunnel, and we also have a film program which focuses on action movies.

For actors, there will be a wide range of options next year! Some acting programs focus on the skills of acting – such as ‘Acting for the Stage and Screen’. Others are more about the creative process of developing your own theatre piece. Campers aged 9-14 will be devising a production entitled ‘The Room of Requirement’ (yes, a Harry Potter reference!) and campers 13+ have their own option: The Looking Glass – A Devised Theatre Project.

Music? There’s singing, musical theatre and Garage Band programs in sessions 1 and 4. Art? Some fantastic options… everything from Urban Art to Pop Art, the Art of Inventions to Monsters, Myth and Magic. Stage Combat? Recreate Gladiator fights from the Colusseum. Create demi-gods, Percy Jackson-style. Stage an epic cycle of Japanese folk stories, or join us for ‘Clowns With Swords’. Sometimes it’s hard for younger campers to choose a specific program, but we’ve thought of that, too! In Session 1 and Session 4 we’re running ‘Performance Arts’, a creative arts program which combines acting, puppetry, film, mask, singing… anything the campers are interested in. They explore their chosen art forms, then combine them into a final show.

As you can see, there really are too many amazing options to list here! Please check out our 2015 website on Thursday 6th November for complete descriptions of all 41 specialist arts programs running at camp next summer… and don’t forget the Registration date! It you are a returning camp family, the all-important date is Sunday 16th November. New families can register on Wednesday 19th November.

See you all at camp next summer!
