In the first of a series of blogs on arts programs at Centauri this coming summer, I’m writing to invite you to join us for Aaron Alviano’s fabulous POP ART program!

Pop Art – our Session Three Fine Art program for ages 12-18 – is a general visual arts program (painting, drawing, sculpture…) with a very exciting focus. Campers will look at how the Pop Art movement drew its inspiration from popular culture and mass media, then let famous Pop Art works inspire their own unique creations at camp.

Aaron Alviano, head of our visual arts programs, and designer of this exciting program, says, “The Pop Art movement combines fine art and commercialism in really exciting ways. As well as painting and drawing, we’ll experiment with the intricate art of print making, explore silk screening, try our hand at stencilling and even make a sculpture or two.”

Pop Art was a hugely popular program at Centauri Summer Arts Camp last summer. If you are a keen artist looking for an exciting new challenge, then join us for this exciting opportunity! Discover how the classical art world clashed head-on with mass media and pop culture, take inspiration from the Pop Art movement, and add your unique artistic flair as you create art pieces to exhibit on the final day.
