Well we are officially half way through session one and it seems as though we have already crammed an entire summer worth of fun into the first week of camp!

Since camp started we have celebrated two major holidays together. On Canada Day campers got to travel across Canada, spending some time in each province, learning a bit about our country and meeting some interesting characters along the way. On the Fourth of July we were invited to a formal dinner at the White House where we played human croquet and later in the evening helped the President remember her American history.

Day Five was our Bavarian Banquet!!!! We had a fantastic celebration of Bavarian culture that included a trip back in time to 19th century Bavaria. We learned how to dance the polka and played traditional games like Skittles (a German form of lawn bowling). Then, around the campfire as as the sun went down we watched the Prince and Princess get married.

Today we had a special guest, Sachiko Murakami, on site today to teach creative writing to our writing campers and to run a special workshop. Sachiko is an award winning Toronto-based poet. In just 60 minutes Sachiko and the writing campers created an entire anthology!!!

As we move into the second half of the session programs are starting to put together their final performances and projects. The first festival of the session is today and the whole camp is excited to see what tomorrow will bring.
